Elderly man charged with making indecent images of children after...
AN elderly man who gave his computer into a shop for repairs was arrested after staff found 29 indecent images of children on the hard drive, a court has heard.
David Sergeant, 72, faces five charges of making indecent images of children – relating to a total of 17 photographs – and two charges of possessing indecent images of children – relating to a further 12 pictures.
The pensioner, who lives in Calvin Walk, Bewbush, appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court today (Wednesday)...

Three Bridges appears in court accused of indecently assaulting...
A 60-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court to face a string of charges of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14.
Graham Stubbs is accused of five counts of indecent assault which allegedly involved touching over and under clothes and penetration.
The offences are alleged to have occurred at an address in Southgate between November 11, 1994 and November 12, 1996.
Stubbs, of West Way, Three Bridges, indicated a plea of not guilty to all charges when he appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court...

Huge police presence in Ifield due to "ongoing incident"...
THERE is a huge police presence in Ifield this evening in what police have described as an "ongoing situation".
As many as 15 police cars are reported to have been in Shipley Road at one stage with an ambulance having recently left the scene.
There are unconfirmed reports of a person being carried out of a block of flats on a stretcher.
A police officer is also reported to have been injured, having been knocked to the floor, although again this is unconfirmed.

A POLICE officer has been taken to hospital this evening after being injured while trying to arrest a suspect caught after a chase through the streets of Ifield.
One arrest has been made and officers are currently searching, with the help of the police helicopter, for a second suspect.

Crawley firefighters attend fires in Gossops Green and Rusper
CRAWLEY firefighters were called to two separate fires started in the open between last night and this morning (Thursday).
One fire engine from Crawley Fire Station was sent out on each occasions.
The first incident was in Langhurst Lane, Rusper at 9.48pm last night.
The second was in Woldhurstlea Wood, a Site of Nature Conservation Importance, in Gossops Green at 6.56am this morning.
A crew attended and extinguished the blaze in each of the locations.

FIREFIGHTERS have come to the rescue of a puppy stuck underneath garden decking at a home in Maidenbower.A crew of Technical Rescue Unit firefighters, from West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service, responded to a distressed call about a dog getting trapped in a garden.The puppy was stuck under decking in the back garden of a house in Gregory Close.The crew spent 30 minutes, from 4.30 to 5pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 29), freeing the pet using small tools.

On November 1 last year officers arrested Mark Ware following an incident in Horsham Road, Southgate, in which he is alleged to have attacked Adam Walczy and Robert Juchnevic.
