COMMUTERS to Brighton are being affected by disruption to train services this morning (Thursday) following a train derailment yesterday.
An empty passenger train derailed while leaving a depot near to Brighton shortly before 2pm yesterday.
Power had to be turned off during the afternoon while staff worked to make the train safe.
Further work took place overnight to re-rail the train and allow engineers to assess whether any damage had been caused to the rail infrastructure.

Shoplifter fined after stealing TV from Asda
A MAN has been fined after admitting stealing a TV from Asda.Raimondas Juozapaitis took the TV and other items worth a total of £252 from the store in Pegler Way on March 31.Juozapaitis, 26, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty when he appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on April 1.He was fined £265 and must also pay court costs of £85.

Two missing Crawley schoolgirls found safe and well
THE TWO missing teenage girls who went missing after failing to turn up to their schools on Monday morning have been found safe and well.
Amasia Patel, 13, and Chloe Woolsey, 14, failed to arrive at Holy Trinity CofE Secondary School and St Wilfrid's Secondary School on Monday.
But the pair were found in Kent, safe and well, last night.
Police have not revealed where exactly they had been staying or why they ran off.

Ice rink set to be opened in Tilgate Park this winter
A FORMER shire horse arena in Tilgate Park has been identified as the ideal spot for an ice rink in Crawley.
