A MAN has appeared in court accused of raping a woman in Broadfield. Rafal Rybianski appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court last Wednesday (February 25) charged with rape. The 26-year-old is accused of carrying out the attack on April 23 last year. Rybianski, who required a Polish translator throughout the hearing, did not enter a plea. Police and firefighters called out after van crashes in Rusper

POLICE and the fire service were called out to Rusper yesterday (Monday) afternoon when a van crashed.A crew of firefighters was called as a precaution but nobody was trapped in the vehicle when they arrived.The collision occurred on Capel Road at about 4.30pm. The fire crew left the scene at about 4.55pm and left the incident with Sussex Police.There are not thought to have been any serious injuries.
