A CIGARETTE that had not been stubbed out properly caused rubbish in a bin to set alight in Memorial Gardens today (Saturday). Firefighters were notified of the blaze at 2.39pm and went to the scene in one fire engine. The fire crew used buckets of water to extinguish the flames in the bin, in the middle of the park, and left after around 10 minutes.
