AN 80-YEAR-OLD man has pleading guilty to the manslaughter of his wife, after attacking her with a wine bottle having found out that she had an affair with another man.
Dudley Boakes appeared at Lewes Crown Court last Friday (November 21), where he pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife, 70-year-old Sandra Boakes, at their home in Grasmere Avenue, Sompting on Thursday, April 3.
However, he pleaded guilty to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.

HUNGRY residents could enjoy a free dinner tomorrow (Friday) evening as a town centre restaurant gives away 100 free pizzas.
Ask Italian is reopening after a five-day refurbishment and the restaurant now boasts new signage, a change to the colour scheme and new furniture.
To celebrate the reopening, the High Street restaurant is giving away 100 free pizzas on a first come, first served basis between 5pm and 7pm.

New Crawley bus service launching this Monday
A NEW bus service is being launched in Crawley by The Sussex Bus company.
The new Red Arrow 500 will operate between 6.10am and 7.01pm every 30 minutes from Monday to Saturday.
It will run from Tilgate and Gatwick Airport.
