POLICE had to remove a set of traffic lights out of the road last night (Saturday) following a major crash involving three vehicles on Tushmore Roundabout. Sussex Police arrived at the scene of a road traffic accident at the roundabout which joins London Road and Crawley Avenue at around 6.51pm. During the collision a set of traffic lights were hit and thrown into the middle of the road, obstructing traffic. Police and ambulance attended and those involved were treated for minor injuries....

Fire fighters out in force to deal with A23 camper van blaze

FIRE fighters were called out to a camper fire on the A23 in the early hours of this morning (Sunday). Three appliances from Crawley Fire Station were sent out to put out the blaze at 1.15am which destroyed 70 per cent of the vehicle. The fire took place on the A23 near to the A624. Police were also in attendance. There were no injuries noted at the scene.

A YOUNG woman has been given a 12-month conditional discharge for stealing clothes from Primark in County Mall.Hope Casey stole £67.50 worth of items on April 25.The 24-year-old, of Heather Walk, Smallfield, originally denied the offence, but changed her plea to guilty when she appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 5.She also has to pay £90 in court costs.

FIRE fighters were called to the car park of Cineworld at the Crawley Leisure Park to deal with a gas cylinder that caught fire. Two appliances from Crawley Fire Station attended the Leisure Park on London Road at 11am this morning (Sunday) after a gas cylinder on a roof of one of the buildings caught light. Construction work was underway at the time. Crew members doused the flames with water on arrival.

ONE fire engine has been sent out to Broadfield after smoke was seen rising into the air close to Broadfield Barton.The appliance from Crawley Fire Station is still on the scene but a firefighter who is still at the station said it is believed to be a car fire close to the shops.The unit was called out about 25 minutes ago.
