A HUGE fire in Ashdown Forest had to be tackled yesterday by firefighters from across the south east.
Firefighters and police were called to the inferno at approximately 2pm yesterday (Wednesday).
At least 26 emergency vehicles, including 16 fire engines, were sent from 23 fire stations across West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent.
The fire is now under control but firefighters remain at the scene damping the area down.
