A WEST Green bowls club has honoured its founder by renaming the pavilion it uses after him.Downsman Bowls Club has unveiled a plaque on the building after renaming it the Dennis McCready Pavilion.Mr McCready, former landlord of the Downsman Pub, in Southgate, started playing bowls for fun with a group of regulars at Southgate Playing Fields in 1978.Such was the success of these early exploits that the group decided to create their own bowls club, naming it after the pub.They continued to play...
