A BISHOP whose diocese covers Sussex and Surrey has resigned after admitting being "unfaithful" to his promises as a Catholic priest.
The Rt. Reverend Kieran Conry, bishop of Arundel and Brighton, announced his resignation yesterday and released a statement explaining that he had brought shame on the diocese.
However he did not specify what he had done to be unfaithful, simply adding that his actions "were not illegal and did not involve minors".
