ONE of the town's most prolific fundraisers who came to Crawley from a small village in southern Italy 51 years ago has finally become a British citizen.
Maria Hains, of Eastwood in Three Bridges, took an oath of allegiance to The Queen at a ceremony at Crawley Register Office last Wednesday.
Maria was joined by friends, her husband of 47 years, John, and one of her daughters, Amanda.
