A CHINESE lantern hit the roof of a house in Langley Green last night (February 8).
A passerby saw a fire on a roof and called firefighters around 9.20pm.
Believing it to be a chimney fire, firefighters went to Jackdaw Close in one fire engine.
The fire crew discovered the Chinese lantern "smouldering" on the roof, before it burnt out.
It had caused no damage to the roof. Firefighters inspected and made the scene safe and left around 9.40pm.
