FOUR people had to scramble to safety after their taxi became stuck in floodwater this evening, while on its way to Gatwick Airport.
Wonham Lane, in Betchworth, near Reigate, has flooded and the vehicle became stuck in around four feet of water at about 5pm.
The driver and three passengers had to climb onto the roof of the car and then wade through the water to safety.
A fire engine is believed to be at the scene, with the car needing pulling out of the water.
