A WOMAN has died this afternoon in an explosion at a house in Pound Hill.
Police were called at 12.30pm to Banks Road.
Emergency services are at the scene.
It is unclear at this stage what caused the explosion but it is not believed to be suspicious, and early indications are it could be a boiler or gas canister explosion.
A woman in her 50s was taken from the house and treated by paramedics but sadly died at the scene shortly afterwards.
