ELDERLY victims of flooding are being transported to safety in the town centre.
The Gables Care Home, in Ifield Green, was flooded in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, December 24) with reports of water being three-feet high against the door at 4.30am.
About 35 elderly residents had to be evacuated by the emergency services, with police, fire crews and ambulance paramedics all offering assistance.
