A TREE blown over in strong winds hit power lines and caused them to touch and send sparks flying into the air.
The incident occurred near Holmbush Farm off the A264 and resulted in loss of electrical supply to the area.
A fire crew from Crawley attended the incident at 6.15pm on Saturday (December 21) in one fire engine and inspected the scene.
They called in engineers from UK Power Networks and were away from the scene by 7.30pm.
