FIREFIGHTERS have been praised for rescuing a homeowner's fish after a major fire tore through the property yesterday afternoon.
The cause of the blaze which destroyed the first floor and damaged much of the ground floor of a house in Ashurst Wood is still under investigation.
All persons were accounted for and, according to a neighbour, firefighters even saved the occupants of an aquarium.
