CRAWLEY High Street's new Travelodge has been officially opened, with the town's mayor Bob Burgess cutting the ribbon. The £7 million hotel opened to customers in December but an official opening ceremony was held yesterday (Wednesday). And guests were shown round the hotel, which is part of the Sussex House development that will include a new Morrisons and potentially bars and restaurants. The Travelodge has 110 rooms and has created 20 jobs.

TRAINS are not currently running between Crawley and Horsham due to a car being on the line. The car is understood to be on the track next to the Brighton Road level crossing in Crawley town centre. It is not clear at present if it was left there deliberately or somehow the driver drove onto the track by mistake.
