THIS video shows thick, black oil pouring down a secluded track road in Pound Hill and into a drain which leads into the Gatwick Stream. The Environment Agency is reviewing the footage and pictures taken by Caren and Sean Baker, who were fishing at Ballast Hole Lake, whihch is accessed just off Crawley Avenue, yesterday (Thursday). When they left to go home they discovered the oil had been dumped at the top of the road, and was running down to the drain.

AT least one person has been treated for injuries after two cars collided in Northgate this afternoon. All three emergency services were called to the scene in Woolborough Road, Northgate, at about 1.40pm. Two cars, believed to be a blue Toyota Yaris and a silver VW Polo, collided, causing injuries to at least one person, who was in the Yaris. A 21-YEAR-OLD woman has been jailed for damaging a wing mirror after activating a suspended sentence.Simone Gallagher broke the mirror on a Vauxhall Corsa on April 19.She pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Crawley Magistrates' Court on May 7 and was given a one-week jail term.The resident of Horsham Road, West Green, was given a suspended sentence for assaulting a police officer in East Park, Southgate, on March 27. By damaging the wing mirror she activated that sentence.
