Firefighters rescue woman stuck in shower
A WOMAN was rescued by firefighters today (Friday) after getting stuck in a shower.
A fire crew was sent to help the woman, trapped at a house reportedly on Barrington Road, Southgate, at around 8.30am.
A West Sussex Fire and Rescue spokesman explained that the elderly woman had got her foot trapped in the shower door mechanism.
Firefighters dismantled the shower door to free the woman, who was treated at the scene by paramedics.
She is not believed to have suffered injury but was in a state...

Armed police rush to supermarket after "woman is seen...
A WOMAN has been arrested after reports that a person was seen loading a gun near a supermarket.
Armed police rushed to the Waitrose in Horley at about 5pm yesterday (Thursday) and detained a woman.
A BB gun was also located.

THERE is a huge police presence in Rusper Road, in Ifield, this evening as forensics officers search a small country lane for evidence.
Police have so far not revealed what they are searching for but our reporter says there are at least nine police vehicles at the scene.
A lane off Rusper Road, which runs alongside a large Victorian house and towards part of Ifield Golf Club, has been taped off, with three police officers standing guard at the end of the lane.

Bewbush man pleads guilty to possessing crack cocaine and heroin
A MAN from Bewbush has been given a conditional discharge after admitting possessing crack cocaine and heroin.Aeran Taylor, 29, from Meridian Close in Bewbush, pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine and heroin in Ifield Drive, Ifield, on September 17 last year.Taylor has been conditionally discharged for 18 months and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge and £85 costs, which will be deducted from his benefits.The drugs will be destroyed.

BREAKING NEWS: Firefighters tackling serious blaze in Broadfield...
FIREFIGHTERS have been tackling a serious fire in a home in Broadfield this morning (Saturday).
Two appliances - one from Crawley and another from Horsham - were sent to deal with the fire at Celandine Close at 9.01am.
As of 10.45am fire crews were still on the scene.
The blaze reportedly started in a bungalow and it is understood that two fire engines from Reigate have also been sent to the scene.

BREAKING NEWS: Murder investigation launched after body is found...
POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a body was found in a dumped car on fire in Ifield.
Shortly after 2pm yesterday (Friday) a Volkswagen Jetta car parked close to Ifield Golf Club, in Rusper Road, was reported to be on fire.
When fire crews attended, they found a body in the boot of the car.
Detectives are now trying to identify the body. They are yet to determine the gender. The vehicle suffered extensive fire damage.
A post-mortem on the body is due to take place later...

Bewbush man accused of driving without a licence or insurance
A MAN accused of driving dangerously without a valid licence or insurance has had his case transferred to crown court.Vickesh Patel appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court on February 26.The 23-year-old, from Waldby Court, in Nevile Close, Bewbush, is alleged to have driven a Ford Puma on West Green Drive on August 19 last year while holding only an expired provisional licence.He will appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 27 ahead of a trial.

A MAN accused of possessing a knife in public is set to face trial.Luis De Freitas denies committing the offence in Crawley on August 27 last year.The 26-year-old, who currently resides at Crawley Open House, pleaded not guilty at Crawley Magistrates' Court on February 24 and is now listed for trial at the same court on April 27.

Gossops Green man admits having knife on him in Crawley bar
A GOSSOPS GREEN man has admitted being in possession of a knife at Angelique Bar on Crawley High Street.Fabian Thomas pleaded guilty to the offence, committed on February 21, at Crawley Magistrates' Court on February 23.Thomas, 23, from Highams Hill, Gossops Green, also admitted breaching a 12-month conditional discharge, put in place in June last year for resisting or obstructing a police officer.He will appear at Lewes Crown Court on March 27 to be sentenced.

FIREFIGHTERS faced "treacherous" conditions today (Saturday) when battling a blaze that broke out in a bungalow in Broadfield.
Two fire engines - one from Crawley and one from Horsham - were sent to Celandine Close at 9.01am.
But such was the seriousness of the fire that two further appliances were called in from Horley and Reigate.
In total eight firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used four hoses to battle the blaze.

Teenager missing for a week is found
A TEENAGER from Wales who went missing and was last seen in Crawley has been found.
Daniel Goodman from Tredegar, Gwent, has been found in Worthing.
The 17-year-old was last seen at 4pm on Thursday, March 5 outside Crawley Railway Station.
He was found on Friday morning (March 13).
It had been believed that he may have intended to visit a girlfriend in Crawley on the afternoon that he went missing.
He had failed to return home when expected and concerns were raised when it was realised...
