Surrey Police has confirmed that the ongoing standoff involving armed police began as a drugs raid.
Officers attended a property in Careys Wood early this morning to execute a warrant related to drug issues.
On arrival they were confronted by a person who is believed to have a gun.
Armed police are now on the scene and have cordoned off large areas of the road. But officers say this is not a hostage situation.
