PENSIONERS with arthritis and mobility issues are being asked to stand on one leg and walk around a car park to prove their movement difficulties.
West Sussex County Council has to follow national guidelines on issuing the Blue Badges which allow people to park in designated disabled bays.
Because the guidelines are so rigorous, staff at Maidenbower Day Centre are having to carry out detailed physical assessments which residents say are demeaning and uncomfortable.
