AN elderly woman called the fire service today (Thursday) because her heating was on too high.
The woman from Alicia Avenue in Pound Hill dialled 999 shortly before 1.40pm describing rising temperatures inside the home.
Firefighters from Crawley Fire Station were soon at the scene but discovered the heat was caused by the resident leaving her heating on.
They then turned the heating down before reassuring the occupant the scene was safe.
