A WASHING machine caught fire at a Broadfield home this morning.
Two fire engines were sent from Crawley Fire Station to the property in St Brelades Road at about 10.05am after the appliance set alight.
The fire, which was caused by a faulty motor, was out by the time they arrived.
They made the machine safe and removed it from the home. Two fire engines had been sent as a precaution because it was in a residential area.
