VETS within a 60-mile radius of Crawley are on high alert and the Government has been informed after rare species of tortoise was stolen from a garden in Ifield.
The Hermanns tortoise was taken from a house in Rydal Close in the early hours of October 16 while its owner was asleep.
Because you need a special licence from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to own a Hermanns tortoise, the Government department has been informed of the theft.
