FIREFIGHTERS rescued eight people who had been trapped in a lift for more than an hour last night (Thursday).
Crawley Fire Station was notified of an emergency call at 11.05pm and one fire engine was sent to the Sandman Signature hotel by the Hazelwick roundabout.
On arrival they found the lift had got stuck between the ground and first floors.
The fire crew lowered the lift to the ground floor and used hydraulic rescue spreaders to force its doors open.
