A HOMELESS man has been ordered to pay nearly £2,000 in compensation after tricking his way into being allowed to stay in hotels and guesthouses - and then leaving several days later without paying.
Alan Kennedy, 51, spent weeks living at accommodation in Ardingly and Battle between February and June but left without paying the owners a penny.
In each case he lied that he was employed by large businesses and that the companies had agreed to pay for his accommodation.
