POLICE patrols on the M23 are being stepped up after mindless thugs were spotted throwing bricks and stones at cars from bridges over the motorway.
Two recent incidents have been reported near Smallfield and Gatwick Airport.
A man in his 60s was travelling northbound on this stretch of carriageway at about 4.25pm on Wednesday (September 24) when an item, possibly a brick, was dropped on to the carriageway causing a dent to the passenger side door of his car.
