IF you are out and about on the roads this weekend don't be alarmed if you spot a gritter passing by.
West Sussex County Council is carrying out a winter weather rehearsal on Saturday, with 25 gritters to be driven around the county. It is a dry run to test the council's response to ice and snow on the roads. Equipment, including snowploughs, will be checked to make sure it is in good working order.
