FIREFIGHTERS have been called to a blaze in woodland near Southgate Playing Fields this evening (Tuesday).
An emergency call was made at 4.45pm and fire crews responded to the "fire in the open".
A spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said that the blaze is in fact in woodland near Southgate Playing Fields.
A fire engine and an off-road vehicle were sent to the scene from Crawley Fire Station.
The spokesman added that at this stage it is unclear how big the blaze...
