CRAWLEY firefighters tackled a thatched barn fire in the early hours of today (Sunday).
They were called out to the blaze in Petworth at around 1am.
A fire crew from Crawley Fire Station was sent because their fire engine had special capabilities for tackling the fire.
The appliance had a compressed air foam system, allowing firefighters to spray fire-retardant foam over the blaze.
