FIREFIGHTERS have tackled a fire at the waste and recycling tip in Manor Royal.
Crews from Crawley Fire Station were called to the household waste and recycling site off Metcalf Way at about 3.45pm today (Wednesday).
Firefighters were called to a reported blaze at the amenity tip and on arrival discovered recycling materials had caught alight.
A Crawley fire service spokesman said: "Materials including plastic bottles and cardboard in the recycling area were smoldering."
