A HAND-CYCLIST from West Green is to become the first disabled person to compete in a 24-hour endurance race this weekend.Rob Groves, who is a member of Crawley Wheelers Cycling Club, is aiming to hand-cycle at least 230 miles at the RIDE24 challenge, at Thruxton motor racing circuit in Hampshire.If he achieves this goal he will qualify for another endurance race in America.The 59-year-old, from Town Mead, was paralysed from the waist down in a freak accident in 2006.Speaking earlier this week,...
