A MAJOR flood this morning (Thursday) has closed Hilltop Primary School for infants until further notice.
Staff arriving at the Ditchling Hill school for the first day of the autumn term discovered a "waterfall" pouring from the ceiling after a water pipe burst in the early hours.
They worked alongside firefighters to salvage items from classrooms and clear floodwater.
The school was due to reopen for all children today.
