AN Ifield resident has staged a one-man vigil to remember the lives lost when America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan towards the end of the Second World War.
Richard Symonds paid his solo tribute in Tilgate Park on Monday to the thousands killed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945.
Mr Symonds said: "We need to remember, and learn from, what happened at Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and August 9, 1945.
"But there was nothing this year (in terms of events to remember the victims)....
