A COPTHORNE man was arrested on suspicion of homophobic chanting at the clash between Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The 54-year-old was arrested as the fierce rivals played each other in the second leg of the Championship playoff semi final.
Sussex Police officers were joined by colleagues from five neighbouring forces, including mounted officers from Thames Valley.
