THE fire service has issued advice to anyone using wood burners after a home in Broadfield was devastated by fire last week.
The home in Gorse Close was gutted in the blaze which started in a wood burner in the back garden on Thursday.
The occupants of the house believed it had gone out but the fire reignited and spread to the roof of the home while they were out.
Thankfully nobody was home at the time and firefighters managed to prevent the blaze spreading to neighbouring properties.
