THE month of May has so far been particularly sweet for budding journalist Megan Mackey.
The 13-year-old St Wilfrids schoolgirl has been named the best young sports reporter in the UK after winning the first stage of a Europe-wide competition.
The keen footballer had also just scored a hat-trick a few days earlier as her Year 8 team won the County Cup final for the first time.
Megan has won a three-day, all-expenses-paid trip to Lisbon, Portugal, for the Champions League final, on May 24.
