THE A23 has been completely closed in both directions between and the Fleming Way and Lowfield Heath roundabouts.
It is expected to remain shut until the end of May.
The closure is to allow Thames Water to lay new sewer pipes under the dual carriageway, where a leak at the start of April caused some of the road to subside.
The full closure is expected to last until the end of the month after which the southbound carriageway will reopen.
