A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was rescued by firefighters last night (April 2) after getting stuck in mud for two hours.
The incident happened near Bewbush Brook, which feeds Bewbush Water Gardens.
Firefighters were called at 6.55pm and raced to Yewlands Walk, in Ifield West, in two fire engines.
From Yewlands Walk they crossed the railway to reach the stranded girl, who was stuck in the mud up to her thighs.
It took firefighters an hour to dig her out.
