A CEMENT mixer has hit a pedestrian bridge in Manor Royal forcing the county council to close it for safety reasons.
The bridge, which goes over Gatwick Road and stands outside White Dresses and Tiaras bridal shop, shows clear signs of the impact.
The footbridge was struck by the arm of a passing cement mixer earlier today and a bridge inspector was sent out immediately by West Sussex County Council to assess the damage.
