A MAN who will face trial accused of killing his pet cat has argued he took "necessary" steps to stop the animal from suffering.
David Streeter, from Cherry Lane, in Langley Green, appeared at Crawley Magistrates' Court this morning (Wednesday).
The RSPCA brought the case to court in relation to a female tabby cat.
Between June 19 and June 28 last year, Streeter is alleged to have failed to provide his pet with the necessary veterinary care it required.
