FIREFIGHTERS have rescued several people trapped in a blaze at a block of flats.
Crawley Fire Station was called to reports of a fire in the communal area of a block of flats in Springfield Road, Southgate, this morning (Monday).
Two crews were dispatched at 10.48am to attend to the ground floor fire. On arrival two residents had already been rescued by neighbours who saved them through windows but a further four people were in need of help.
