AN EXTRA £1 million is being put into flood defences in West Sussex following the recent downpours which have left whole communities in the region under water.The funding was announced at last Friday's full West Sussex County Council meeting as the authority agreed its budget for 2014/15.Operation Watershed, the council's project to protect communities against flooding, has seen £8.5 million spent in the current financial year.The extra cash on top of this for 2014/15 will be...
