CONTROLLED explosions have been carried out on a suspicious van at Gatwick Airport.
A bomb disposal unit was called to a car park at the airport's North Terminal at about 2.40pm after security personnel became suspicious of a Renault van in the short stay car park.
When police arrived the driver could not be located and the interior of the van could not be seen fully, raising suspicions further.
