A COW was rescued from a slurry pit in Horsted Keynes.The animal became trapped in waste at a dairy farm, off Treemans Road in the village, at about 7am on Monday.Four firefighters used winches and an inflatable rescue path to reach the cow, which was then seen by a vet.Unit crew manager Rob Negus said: "This is a fairly regular thing for us, but it doesn't get any nicer."It took us all day to get ourselves and our equipment clean.
