AROUND 1,500 drivers are to have their speeding tickets rescinded after an error.
The error came after the Highways Agency's contractor did not place 50mph signs at roadworks in accordance with a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order.
This meant the reduced speed limit was not valid.
And even those recorded exceeding 70mph will have their tickets rescinded.
