A FALLEN tree forced the closure of Hollingbourne Crescent in Broadfield while ten garages have had their roofs blown off in Ifield.
The tree came down at the junction with Tollgate Hill and the road was closed about half an hour ago, but it has since reopened.
A row of ten garages had their roofs blown off behind the shops on Ifield Parade at about 3.30pm. A crew from Crawley Fire Station attended to secure or remove the debris.
More wet and windy weather is expected throughout the weekend.
