FIREFIGHTERS from Crawley and East Grinstead came to the rescue of an elderly woman whose house flooded on Christmas Day.
Crews pumped four feet of water from the old mansion in Rowfant in a four-hour operation which started at 9am.
Damage was caused to the boiler room and several kitchen appliances.
Crawley fire crews have returned there today to continue the operation.
