A POWER supplier has offered to pay for families to have a free Christmas dinner - as 28,000 homes spend Christmas Day without power.
At midday today there were about 28,000 properties in the South East without power, as a result of Monday night's storm, which caused severe flooding in Crawley and other parts of Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
Engineers are working on the faults and repairs will continue throughout today and tomorrow (Boxing Day).
