POLICE have cordoned off a small area of the beach west of Brighton's Palace Pier in the area to the south of Pool Valley, following a report of a female being the subject of a serious sexual assault in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).
Detective Inspector Lee Horner has said that a large number of police officers are being used to gather all available evidence.
The victim is currently helping police piece together the events and is being supported by specialist officers.
